Meadow Forge blacksmiths Devon was started in 1995 by Dean Aggett, an artist blacksmith whose family comes from a long line of Devon blacksmiths dating back to at least 1550.

Amid the roar of the forge fire and ring of the anvil Dean works using traditional forging tools and techniques to create your individual piece. Dean's range of high quality hand-forged wrought iron products includes beds, chairs, kitchen pan racks, garden furniture, obelisks, weather vanes, rose arches, gates, benches, boot scrapers, curtain poles, fire dogs, candlesticks, pokers, toasting forks, swords, hooks, handles and many more bespoke items.

Gates & Railings
At Meadow Forge we can make gates and railings to your specification or we can work with you to produce a design of gate or railing that will complement the setting.

The highest level of craftsmanship is employed to produce a traditional or modern style gate. Regardless of the design we will use the best quality materials and finishes to give you a product that will stand the test of time.


Wrought iron curtain poles
At Meadow Forge we will hand forge your wrought iron curtain poles to exactly match the width of your windows with your choice of pole ends.

This means that you will get the smooth lines of a one-piece curtain pole whatever the size.

All curtain poles have a complete set of brackets included and poles without rings have one removable end to allow for curtain fitting. To find the size you require simply measure the gap between the places you need the fixing brackets to attach we will add the pole ends to this length.


Hinges handles and latches
We make a large range of door and window accessories.

We can make any accessories you might require to match your ironwork or you can choose from a range of individually designed hinges, handles, latches, catches and other accessories..
