We aim to provide the highest quality, percussion-drilled water supply borehole service available. Our clients depend on our advice and flexibility to suit their individual requirements and we in turn associate ourselves with only those suppliers that have a similar ethos. We are committed to completing contracts on time, using only directly employed labour and our own modern plant.

Since 1984, we have been constructing water supply boreholes for various clients throughout south east England. Our employees are accredited in various aspects of their craft and we have qualified engineers and electricians as part of our management team. We are on the select tender list for the construction of chalk boreholes for the Environment Agency (southern region) and have an active working relationship with the British Geological Survey, to whom copies of all our boreholes are sent for inclusion in the national archive.

Our expertise covers not only the construction of water supply boreholes, but also soakaway boreholes and geothermal heating boreholes for both closed loop and open loop systems. We also work for various highways agencies and councils, constructing boreholes for road drainage or treated effluent disposal.

Domestic Supply
We have a comprehensive range of hydro-geological maps that usually allow us to provide a quotation simply on receipt of a postcode. If we are unsure of the hydro-geology, we will recommend a borehole prognosis is obtained from the British Geological Survey and upon which our proposals will be based. If we feel that the geology at a site is better suited to an alternative type of drilling, for example rotary techniques, we will advise the client to seek a quotation from a fellow member of the Well Drillers Association who has the necessary plant and expertise.

Our standard rigs allow us to access and work in small areas. As long as a car can drive there we can drill there. In certain circumstances we can carry our demountable drilling rig through a standard doorway or down an alley to gain access to the site.

H.D. Drilling Ltd has gained quality assurance recognition by way of BS EN ISO 9001 and BS EN ISO 14001 accreditation. We have been members of the Well Drillers Association since 1988 and have senior staff that have worked in the well drilling industry, both in the field and at management level, for more than 35 years. We can drill at diameters ranging from 460 to 150 mm and to depths of up to 150 metres.

Commercial Services
In addition to our ability to drill water supply boreholes for both domestic and commercial applications, we are also experienced in the development of wells by acidisation, airlifting and clearance pumping. We can conduct pumping tests (as required by the Environment Agency for example) and install constant pressure systems. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions.
