About us
Following a career with an international contractor, Barry Finch established Southchurch Building Contracts in 1974. In 1999 Barry was joined by his son Tony, who, following a career in architecture, enabled Southchurch to offer consulting as part of their services.

In 2005 the company became incorporated as Southchurch Building Contracts Ltd. At this point the building business split into Specialist works and Contracting to maintain client focus.

In 2009 Southchurch were joined by interiors specialist Fred Blewett who was able to bring 30 years expertise to the Interiors sector of the business. As Southchurch continues to expand through all sectors, the sense of integrity remains constant. Our long-standing reputation for quality and personal commitment to every project is second to none.



At Southchurch we work in many sectors as the main contractor. We are able to undertake works for a wide variety of clients whether private, industrial and commercial, or municipal.

Interiors
The newly established Interiors sector at Southchurch offers not only a stand alone service but also a complementary service to both our contract and specialist works clients.
  • Interiors Manager Fred Blewett brings with him over 30 years experience in this discipline.

  • We are able to offer not only fitting expertise but also highly competitive rates.

  • We offer a wide and diverse range of floor coverings to domestic clients that can be integrated into all our building projects.

  • Southchurch are able to offer a complete fit out service to our commercial clients


We have solid experience of working in: schools; offices; nursing homes; hospitals; shops; hotels. All our fitters are CRB checked.



Specialist works
Since Southchurch first started in 1974 we have built a reputation for expertise in the management of intensive specialist works.
  • The scope of the works undertaken ranges from extensions and loft conversions to full refurbishments, re-modelling and new build houses.

  • Being client focussed, we are especially aware of the delicate nature of undertaking building projects in occupied premises. With this need for an additional level of management in mind, all our Specialist Works projects come under the direction of manager Dave Groombridge.

  • Dave Groombridge ensures that all are specialist works projects are undertaken with Southchurch’s renowned level of integrity, and come complete with a dedicated supervisor who is highly experienced in client relations.


We have a long and distinguished history in managing listed building projects. We have extensive knowledge and expertise in managing the legislation that these works entail.



Consulting
Often the first point of contact for clients at Southchurch is the consulting practice. This discipline is managed by Tony Finch, BSc in Property Development and Asset Management. As Southchurch has over 30 years experience in the contracting industry, we believe our consulting services relate to the real world. From this we can determine feasibility, accurate costings and a time-scale to sanction and complete the works.
