Membership applications are carefully vetted. Initial and then subsequent independent audits every two years ensures continued compliance. This is a strict process however it ensures that members are regulated and meet the NASC objectives of maintaining and developing best practice through out the scaffolding industry.
Areas for qualification for membership must include:
- Competency in trained operatives to the CISRS (Construction Industry Scaffolders Record System)
- Demonstration of adequate health and safety policies
- Membership of the CITB
- Sufficient public liability and employers insurance and must adhere to work to both the NASC’s code of conduct and the guidelines it produces.
Guidance and best practice are developed in conjunction with the latest industry guidelines and with significant input from the HSE (Health and Safety Executive).
The recognition of the NASC’s work continues to be acknowledged and the requirement for only NASC members to be contracted for scaffolding projects within the UK is becoming more and more popular.
