John L Lord & Sons Ltd is a nationally recognised leader in ceramic and resin based seamless floor finishes.
Established in 1901, our family owned business has over 100 years experience of working within the specialist industrial flooring sector. We have experienced sustained growth during the last 15 years and have recently welcomed Fifth Generation members of the Lord family into the business.
With a turnover in excess of £7 million per annum, our professional management team have created a suite of products and services which allow us to perform the role of both contractor and manufacturer. This unique set-up has enabled the business to develop a portfolio of prestigious Blue Chip clients across a wide variety of industrial sectors, such as Warburtons Ltd, H.L (Premier) Foods, George Adams & Sons Ltd, Bernard Matthews Ltd, Baxters Food Group, GlaxoSmithKline and many more.
Our highly technical, resin based seamless flooring products are well recognised as setting the benchmark for innovation and excellence within the industry, which combined with our highly specialist application skills have seen the business win an ever increasing volume of repeat business.

In addition to offering solutions for flooring and drainage ware, the business is constantly refining its product range and winning new clients in existing and new market sectors. In 2001 Canal Engineering Ltd, became a part of the John Lord Group of Companies. Canal is an architectural metalwork company based in Nottingham, specialising in bespoke architectural constructions in metal and responsible for the manufacture of the ‘Aspen’ stainless steel drainage and kerbing range of products. A long term objective for John Lord is the development of a group capable of servicing a wide variety of sectors within both the UK and on an international basis. This highly ambitious plan is already being implemented with plans for further group strategic acquisitions and management recruitment. The management team will drive this expansion and play an integral role in securing the ambitious goals of a company that prides itself upon quality, reliability and customer satisfaction.
The Service John Lord offers is second to none. The key to our success lies in our philosophy of providing a Total Responsibility Package. The John Lord Group handles all aspects of floor installation from initial analysis and design to material manufacture, installation and after sales service. Qualified John Lord personnel perform and control all aspects of the projects.

John Lord Group Facilities
The facilities found at the John Lord current manufacturing bases in Bury, Lancashire & Nottingham, East Midlands have been developed to support fully the comprehensive service we provide to our customers:-
- An extensive, undercover manufacturing depot housing an on-site technical development lab and manufacturing facility where our products are developed tested and stored.
- Our own private vehicle fleet (comprising of over 25 lorries and specially equipped team vans).
- Our own Plant Department controlled by our dedicated Plant Manager, maximising our efficiency as a company when dealing with projects.
- Around 60 highly skilled, full-time employed site teams and Field Supervisors. All our site engineers and personnel have undertaken specialist John Lord training and Health and Safety training programmers.
Large manufacturing facilities employing over 100 skilled men for the comprehensive ‘Aspen Range’ of stainless steel drainage ware and wall base kerbing required for the Food Processing and Pharmaceutical industries.
