Ian Richards and Michael Lewis became partners in May 1998. Alan Baxter became a consultant in May 2001. The practice became a Limited Liability Partnership in May 2006, and in February 2007 moved from Staplehurst to larger premises in the picturesque village of Loose in Maidstone.
The practice has worked on a wide variety of new and refurbishment projects for a broad base of clients. Design work has been successfully carried out on schools, offices, industrial and retail premises and domestic and social housing.
The practice has undertaken work in all parts of the UK. A good percentage of local work has allowed us to gain a detailed knowledge of ground conditions and historic construction methods in the southeast and London. Particular expertise has been built up in structural surveys of existing buildings, site investigations and foundation design for low-rise buildings.
In recent years we have built a reputation on delivering a high level of detail to a challenging time scale on a series of high profile Educational and Commercial Sector Projects.
The firm is made up of approximately nine experienced Engineers, who maintain a close involvement with clients and other professionals during all stages of a project. Our basic aim is to provide elegant, efficient and economic structural engineering design. We have computer analysis (Integer Superstress, CADS 3D Max and Scale) and draughting (AutoCAD) available for use on suitable projects.
The firm is wholly owned by the two partners, whose advice is independent and free from any commercial bias or connection.
