Meet the Team
We don't use sub contractors, and we are also fully insured to the highest level, so all of the work is done by Fowler & Sons employees, either by myself or my sons and our other employees, it's truly the most personal service you can expect from a small family run business.
Cost of Thatching
The cost of thatching depends on many factors, including:

- Access to the site
- Height to eaves
- Shape and design of roof
- Access to roof
- Types of features

- Existing roof timber condition

Additional Costs and Quotations
It is not always possible to determine roof timber conditions or existing roof conditions when quoting. It may therefore become apparent that additional costs do occur. In the event of it happening we will always discuss these costs prior to any walk not originally quoted for being carried out.
A possible additional cost could be the delay between the receipt of your quotation and your written acceptance being received by ourselves. If sufficient time elapses, another quotation will be required.
Care of Thatch
Good thatch will require frequent maintenance. Establish early on what condition the thatch is in, then appropriate work (if necessary) can be planned. Do not assume that because materials are slipping or that the roof looks a mess, that it needs re- thatching.
Do not assume that because the roof looks neat (with a good- conditioned ridge pattern) that it is prime condition.
