We offer a fully supportive technical design and advisory service whether standard or custom glass is required. Our design led team are able to respond rapidly, ensuring that our product reflects your individual needs.
Kiln formed glass has gained a strong popularity in recent years among architects and interior designers being used as an alternative to standard, flat obscured, sandblasted or stained glass. Kiln formed glass is a different, new way to enhance and beautify any interior or exterior location.
Kiln Forming Process
The glass is fired in our industrial kilns to pre-determined firing cycles and temperatures allowing the glass to conform to the mould, creating areas of varying depth and texture.
After the slow cooling process the glass panel is removed from the kiln. One side remains smooth and slightly undulating, while the other, which was in contact with the mould, has a textured surface.

For the designer and architect a fully supportive technical design and advisory service is available. Whether standard or custom manufactured glass is required, our design led team are able to respond rapidly, ensuring that our product reflects your individual designs and client needs.
For the contractor we provide technical advice, liaising closely to ensure that the correct product is supplied, with reliable delivery at all times.
For the end user our service offers total support from initial concepts through to final completion. To ensure continuity, we are happy to liaise either directly with yourselves, or your preferred designers or contractors.
Textured Glass
Design led in our approach, Hot Glass Design manufactures a wide range of patterned and textured glass to meet the individual needs of projects and clients.
Kiln formed glass is that which is altered, fused, shaped or textured by the extreme heat of the kiln. This process leaves one face of the glass textured and the other smooth and slightly undulated.
The range is continually being updated to provide a unique solution at a very competitive rate.
For specific situations or large projects new standard patterns can be produced to echo a corporate identity
Sandblasting
Hot Glass Design products can be sandblasted to give a frosted/etched effect to the glass.
