Thomas Rooney & Sons Ltd is a fifth generation family of Stonemasons from the heart of the Mournes.

Expert craftsmen carry out the high standard of work we are associated with. The company specialises in Stone Houses, Churches, Entrance Walls, Pillars, etc., and can supply all types of natural stone on a supply only or a supply and build service. We can provide help in the design of any Stone Structure or advise on any aspect of Stonework.


Our team of skilled craftsmen specialise in the building of natural hand worked stone. We have undertaken a number of very prestigious projects in the past and have worked on many restoration projects. These range from the rebuilding of the Mourne Cottage and Byre at the Ulster Folk Museum, Cultra, Co. Down to the restoration of the renowned Mourne Wall. We also supply the Mourne Granite Stone unique to this area.

Our specialist craftsmen have built numerous churches and private dwelling houses in various stone types throughout Ireland. We also build chimneys, boundary walls and sunrooms. We also specialise in interior stone features such as arches, fireplaces, walls and piers.
