A DampAid UK surveyor is a specialist consultant as well as a surveyor, having undergone internal and external training to gain the nationally recognised and necessary qualifications - namely CSRT (Certificated Surveyor in Remedial Treatment) & CTIS (Certificated Timber Infestation Surveyor). This enables the surveyor to correctly diagnose a dampness, rising damp, woodworm or fungal/timber decay problem and to recommend the correct remedial measure to control, cure or treat it.
Many of our damp and timber surveys are carried out for clients who are buying a property and have been instructed to employ a damp proofing specialist or timber treatment specialist to investigate areas of dampness, moisture ingress, woodworm infestation or timber decay. The damp and timber report produced is usually required prior to exchange of contracts, where any damp quotation or timber quotation can be used to negotiate the price of the property.
