| | Telephone | 0114 272 0033 | | | Fax | 0114 272 0060 | | Email | | | Website | www.gqaqualifications.com | | | GQA is the only national awarding body for NVQ/SVQ qualifications aimed at Fabricators, Glass Manufacturers, Glass Processors, Glaziers, Installers (Glass related), Installers of Domestic Facias, Soffitts & Bargeboards and Automotive Glaziers. All GQA national qualifications can be found on the Ofqual Register and our website. Candidates that have registered on GQA qualifications that have been replaced by new style qualifications are allowed two or three years in which to achieve the NVQ/SVQ. New qualifications tend to have slightly different titles (as detailed in the chart below) to the earlier qualifications.
A significant number of GQA qualifications are ''Building'' related and some provide the only national vocational qualification (NVQ and SVQ) route for access to glass related CSCS cards.

National Occupational Standards, derived by the industry Sector Skills Councils (SSC) are the basis of national qualifications and are constantly updated. The SSC for the Glass and related industries Proskills, is constantly working with the sector to update glass and related standards.
Other GQA NVQ/SVQ qualifications are available at Levels 2 & 3 for Automotive Glaziers and Glass Manufacturers, etc
.
GQA qualifications must be implemented via approved organisations. These organisations tend to fall within three main categories:
- Employers
- Independent Training Provider Partnerships (working with employers)
- College Training Provider Partnerships (working with employers)
The GQA website (www.gqaqualifications.com) provides detailed information on the available qualifications, organisations currently approved to offer GQA qualifications, copies of GQA News (published at least three times per annum) and news items, etc.
The majority of GQA centres are approved Training Providers, i.e. they can often attract national funding to contribute to training that leads to a NVQ/SVQ outcome.
Those organisations registered with or in-scope to the CITB may be able to attract financial support via the CITB Levy Grant system.
