Steadmans are building envelope specialists, manufacturing and supplying an extensive range of products and components for use in the construction of industrial, commercial and agricultural buildings. The company’s products include profiled steel roofing and cladding sheets, composite roof and wall panels, fibre cement sheeting, purlins, cladding rails, C and Z sections, bespoke flashings and a wide range of roofing accessories together with the BBA approved AS2000 profiled metal roofing system that gives the appearance of a natural slate roof.


Family Company - History & Background
The company was originally formed as a village blacksmith serving the local community at the turn of the last century. Steadmans has changed quite dramatically over the last 30 years, evolving first into a steel framed building fabricator and erector and then again more recently to become one of the UK’s largest roll formers manufacturing quality products in a process certified to ISO 9001:2000 and providing a one-stop shop service for steel framed building envelopes.

Having outgrown its original site in the Lake District village of Caldbeck, Steadmans moved to its current factory on the 50,000 sqm company-owned site at Warnell in 1989. A highly successful family-owned business, Steadmans began roll forming in the early 1990’s and now employs over 130 staff. In order to deal with the increasing demands for its quality products, the company has continually re-invested in the premises which have been steadily expanded and now cover an area of over 16,000 sqm.

Steadmans prides itself on its high reputation for service, reliability and quality products. This reputation and loyal customer base has been built up over the years through the company’s understanding of its customers’ needs derived from having themselves been involved in site steel erection and cladding work. To satisfy the requirements of its customers, Steadmans also has depots in Scotland and Northern Ireland and operates its own modern fleet of vehicles (mostly equipped with self-unloading forklifts) to ensure a reliable nationwide service which includes weekly deliveries to each area within the UK and Ireland.
