The Muck truck pedestrian dumper is designed and built in the West Country and delivers obvious productivity benefits to the building/hire and landscaping industry. It can carry three times that of a conventional wheelbarrow and will transport loads of up to one quarter of a tonne. A reliable easy-start 5.5hp Honda engine powers the four-wheel drive ensuring maximum traction when moving loads on wet and uneven ground.
Easy-fit optional extras are also available; such as skip extensions to add 30% to the carrying capacity, or, alternatively, the standard 6cu ft (220 litre) hopper can be removed in seconds to be replaced with a flat bed capable of carrying up to 120 bricks. The flat bed also allows awkward heavy loads such as bags of cement, rolls of turf and slabs to be moved without the risk of injury.
Other attachments on offer include double wheels for use on soft terrain, and turf tyres for lawn protection. A ball hitch accessory enables the truck to power the manoeuvring of trailers or caravans on site and there is even a snow plough available to clear roads and work areas should the weather deteriorate or of course it could be used as a handy grader.
Being only 28in (70cm) wide, the Muck truck glides through the average doorway and is designed to be just as manoeuvrable when loaded as when empty. A fully loaded Muck truck will climb up to 38 degrees and will carry up to a quarter of a tonne (250kgs/550lbs).
The Muck truck works just as well with a mini-digger and is ideal in conjunction with a cement mixer. It’s compact in size facilitating easy transportation, loading and unloading in vans and onto trailers.
Muck Truck has proven to be the benchmark by which other manufacturers measure their product. Now manufactured on three continents, the unit offers builders, landscapers and hire companies a unique opportunity to boost productivity and prove a sound investment on site.
The transmission is sealed for life and requires no servicing. When the drive belt eventually needs replacing, the work can be done in less than five minutes without specialist tools.
Designed for professional use the product features four forward speeds 0.5mph-3.5 mph and one reverse. Stopping dead when the clutch lever is released, the Muck truck is designed with safety uppermost in mind. Balanced weight distribution for easy tipping and having a hand throttle for precise forward speed control, the operative can help avoid the most frequently reported industrial injury to the back (44%) followed by limbs which accounts for over 28%.
Research by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) shows a massive six million days were lost last year due to injury in the workplace. The HSE state that it is the employer’s duty to avoid manual handling as far as reasonably practical and use machines rather than physical labour. Enter the Muck truck.
Now Muck truck can also supply a tailor made loading ramp that enables the dumper to unload directly into a skip. Using the ramp also minimises risk of injury and damage with manual handling. With less physical strain, the workforce will essentially be more efficient thereby reducing the number of sick days resulting in lower overheads and increased profit margins.
Managing Director of Muck truck, Terry Rowlands, said: “The statistics show that employee injury is still a major issue in the workplace, particularly in the construction industry. A Muck truck removes much of the daily physical labour that workers have to undertake, decreasing the risk and making the site essentially more efficient and productive.”
