Hippowash® delivers high volumes of water under high pressure directly on to tyre treads and vehicle under-chassis to ensure the complete removal of muck and contaminants. Designed and fabricated in the Midlands, Hippowash® provides:
1. A high-performance wheel washer
which uses 50% less energy than alternative electric and diesel-run systems.
2. A patented water recycling unit
The Siltbuster HB50 ST® can deliver 30% savings on water compared to other recycling systems.
 | Hippo Power at Tilbury
Hippowash was visited by RWE technical staff at the Hillhead exhibition in 2005 and was invited to propose a wheel wash system with water recycling for their site at Tilbury. Tilbury is one of three of RWE npower's coal fired power stations which co-fire a range of biomass materials to replace some of the coal burned. |
 | Landfill Project - Plymouth
Plymouth City Council contracted T. J. Brent (now May Gurney) to construct a groundwater cut-off wall on the southern boundary of Chelston Meadow Landfill site.
The project incorporated replacing the existing wheel wash system, as it was located right in the middle of the planned works. The wheel wash requirement was therefore not related to the ground works or subsequent restoration project, but for use on the working landfill site. |
 | Quarry Project - North Wales
Hippowash® worked with various members of the RMC Halkyn team over a 12 month period to deliver a wheel wash solution suitable for their changing needs.
RMC took 2 units. The first was to fulfil part of a planning stipulation for the construction phase of the new processing plant in their limestone quarry in North Wales. The second was employed to wash the wheels of up to 250 vehicles per day exiting the busy site. |
 | Landfill Project - North Wales
MWH Associates Limited, part of the Merseyside-based waste management specisalists MWH Group approached Hippowash® to provide a wheel wash solution for their newly-developed site near Wrexham, North Wales.
The Hafod quarry has been actively extracting clay and supplying local tileries for over 100 years. Designing, planning and building the landfill operation has taken 5 years to complete. The final part of the jigsaw was putting in the appropriate infrastructure to cope with up to 80 vehicle movements per day. |
