Action Renewables bringing the future of energy to the present

Widely recognised in Northern Ireland as the leading authority on renewable and sustainable energy, Action Renewables has continued to develop and increase the services it provides after being in operation for over three years. Action Renewables supported by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment, have made a significant headway to educate the population of Northern Ireland on the importance of renewable energy.

Action Renewables aims to significantly raise awareness about the issues concerning climate change and to help facilitate the development and use of renewable technologies in homes and businesses across Northern Ireland.

The renewable technologies which are suitable for use in Northern Ireland are solar water heating, photovoltaics, wind turbines, heat pumps, wood fuelled boilers and hydroelectricity for those that are lucky enough to have access to a water source.

Action Renewables excel at interacting with the public, not-for-profit groups and small to medium sized enterprises, and seeing just how their attitudes are changing towards renewable energy and the realisation that climate change will impact on Northern Ireland too! In addition to our activities with householders, industry and local government, we offer a complementary education programme for primary and post-primary schools that is linked to the national curriculum. This education programme is offered free-of-charge to schools and all the visits are customised to suit the requirements of the individual schools.

Services provided by Action Renewables include an enhanced research programme to identify the positioning of renewable energy within Northern Ireland and a renewable energy installer academy (REIA) which aims to train installers in Northern Ireland to a high quality standard to provide piece of mind to the customer. Also our dedicated Renewable Energy Advisory Service (REAS) who provide impartial, independent advice to callers on renewable energy and the grants, which are available to them. If you are interested in a 'Reconnect' grant to install a renewable technology in your home then please freephone 0800 023 4077 or email reconnect@actionrenewables.co.uk or log on to www.reconnect.org.uk

The emphasis of the Action Renewables programme is very much on the individual - renewables are not the responsibility of someone else - '..... you hold the power'. If you are interested in renewable energy please visit our website www.actionrenewables.org or freephone 0808 141 2020.
