Oxford Solar Ltd is an established company, providing consultancy, design, supply and installation of Solar Thermal and Biomass systems. We work with both private individuals and building professionals to provide the most energy-efficient solution for both domestic and commercial properties.
System Design
A well-designed Solar Hot Water Heating System will provide 50-70% of your annual hot water requirements and in suitable circumstances, a part of your space heating. For the remainder an auxiliary heat source is required for which we can specify biomass boilers, providing a carbon-neutral solution. When there is no option but to use fossil fuels, the most efficient condensing boilers and controls are specified.
Whatever the chosen solution, our aim is always to design an integrated system that utilises the maximum amount of energy from the sun. For this purpose we always prefer to collaborate as early as possible in the design stage of a refurbishment or new build.
We have extensive experience and knowledge of a wide range of solar thermal systems, and choose our preferred products with great care. Where suitable solutions do not exist using these, others are specified.

Oxford Solar is the UK partner for SOLARFOCUS GmbH, an Austrian supplier of top-quality Solar Thermal Collectors, Biomass boilers and Thermal Stores. With over 25 years’ experience, SOLARFOCUS is able to provide us with innovative, high-quality products and exceptional technical know-how and support.
SOLARFOCUS are the sole producers of the unique CPC (Compound Parabolic Concentrator) solar collector that captures a greater fraction of solar energy in both the morning/afternoon and spring/autumn periods. The CPC combines the aesthetic and robust qualities of conventional flat-plates with a higher energy yield.
Other products include high-quality Flat-plate collectors, Wood Pellet and Log boilers and Thermal Stores.
Oxford Solar are accredited installers on the Low Carbon Buildings Programme.
