After graduating from Oxford University with a degree in physics, rather than becoming a research scientist, David became a deep-sea diver working on commercial oil rigs. This challenging and financially rewarding work allowed him to travel the world and enjoy life.
On returning to the UK, David decided to make another dramatic career change by joining the social services as a residential social worker caring for the mentally ill. It was whilst working in this environment that he developed an interest in carpentry, as this was a part of the rehabilitation process used to help some of the patients. His flair, creativity and attention to detail have always been the motivation behind everything we do. Over the years David has applied his experience across all areas of the business and particularly in the development of the company's conservatory and orangery design software. This work is an ongoing challenge, to continuously improve our modern production processes in the endless pursuit of perfection. Just one more reason David Salisbury can offer a design and build service for their high quality wooden conservatories and orangeries like no other.
Garden Rooms
Every garden room designed by David Salisbury is unique and utilises the same state-of-the-art production process as our conservatories and orangeries. They are constructed of the same high quality hardwood timber sourced from suppliers with established environmental policy and processes in place to ensure that the timber is not illegally logged.
Orangeries
Our bespoke hardwood orangeries work equally well in both traditional and contemporary settings and offer a stylish alternative to a standard house extension. They are wonderfully light and airy spaces due to the lantern roofs as well as being cosy and inviting in the winter. For this reason orangeries provide unique multi-purpose living space and are frequently used as kitchen extensions. Recently we have seen a significant growth in popularity - customers who might have opted for a conservatory are now just as likely to choose an orangery.
Conservatories
If you are looking for a traditional conservatory we can offer you a wide choice of designs - anything from an ambitious Victorian or Edwardian conservatory through to a simple lean-to conservatory. The technology behind David Salisbury's manufacturing process means that we can also create the clean contemporary designs that work well with modern properties.
