For over 30 years DuPont Tyvek breather membranes have offered a leading global solution for the protection of buildings and their occupants from external climatic conditions and the effects of condensation.
All the key requirements for a high-performance breather membrane are built right into the very nature of DuPont Tyvek. Unique because of its high-quality single layer construction, DuPont Tyvek is naturally vapour open but also water-tight. This is due its composition of millions of micro fibres that are bonded together to make a maze that's impermeable to moisture and yet allows water vapour to pass through the natural pores in its structure.
DuPont Tyvek can be used in a variety of applications and as part of multi-product systems. It can also be metallised to create highly-reflective surfaces such as DuPont Tyvek Enercor and laminated to increase specific characteristics such as strength - without affecting the performance of its micro-fibre structure.
Robust and resistant to UV damage and wear and tear, DuPont Tyvek offers peace of mind in the form of reliability, durability, trouble-free installation, plus the technical support of a global science company.
DuPont Tyvek UV Facade: powerful protection for beautiful facades
In order to provide lasting protection for external wall constructions that feature open joints, DuPont has developed DuPont Tyvek UV Facade. Open joints on rainscreen cladding mean that the sheet material installed behind is exposed to UV light penetration throughout the life cycle of the building, thus the material must meet extremely high UV resistance requirements. After a rigorous testing process, DuPont Tyvek UV Facade was found to be capable of protecting the insulation and the structure behind open jointed rainscreen cladding for up to 50 years with joint widths of 20mm. Even with joint widths of 30mm, DuPont still gives a 10-year functional guarantee. Tyvek UV Facade is, to date, the only sheet material known to bear the CE mark in accordance with EN 13859-2, and it gives the planner a high degree of design freedom while guaranteeing maximum structural reliability.

DuPont Tyvek Supro- the market leading breather membrane
Tyvek Supro is an extremely water-resistant, airtight and vapour-permeable membrane providing superior air and moisture management for commercial and residential buildings. Tyvek Supro provides improved thermal efficiency and controls condensation by allowing water vapour to diffuse across the whole surface of the roof. DuPont Tyvek Supro helps to eradicate potential timber decay without the need for any unsightly vents. The only single-layer breather membrane on the market, DuPont Tyvek offers durability and performance. Further benefits of Tyvek Supro are the added peace of mind that comes with its inherent robustness and ease-of-installation, plus technical support from a global science company.
DuPont Climate Systems: Innovations in energy-efficiency and home comfort
DuPont Climate Systems help to meet new building regulations, by allowing savings in energy costs of up to 15% - with the added benefit of a reduction in CO2 emissions - plus a more comfortable indoor climate year round. DuPont Climate Systems comprise two new metallised materials: DuPont Tyvek Enercor breather membranes for roofs and walls and DuPont AirGuard vapour control layer. The materials are designed to work together with traditional insulation to create an air-tight building envelope, providing excellent protection against external weather conditions and internal thermal losses. The combination of Tyvek Enercor and DuPont AirGuard boosts the insulation performance by 20%. While DuPont AirGuard protects against moisture penetration from the interior into the building envelope, Tyvek Enercor allows any condensation that might have formed in the roof or wall space to evaporate. This reduces heat transfer, improves energy performance and helps to maintain interior comfort levels.
