Here at MRT Homes Ltd, we aim to offer all clients a product of real quality and a level of personal and professional customer service.
We also offer total flexibility in frame specification. It is the client who chooses the timber frame layout, allowing them complete ownership of their project. MRT Homes Ltd are always on hand to offer any help or assistance but the final decisions are always left to the client.
The directors formed MRT Homes Ltd in 2006 after many years of working for timber frame companies across the region. This knowledge and experience has helped the company gain a reputation for providing a unique product with excellent service.
Clients engage MRT Homes because they recognise that without a quality frame it is not possible to build a quality home. Also, MRT Homes offer total flexibility in frame specification. It is the client who chooses the frame specification, so the client retains ownership of their project. MRT Homes staff are available to offer any help and assistance that the client may require, but the final decisions are always left to the client.
MRT customers often choose a 184mm closed panel system, which is insulated and has electrical boxes and conduit factory fitted. However, some clients prefer to do the insulating and boarding themselves so an open panel system is also an option.
Either frame can also be manufactured using a 140mm stud.
The main benefits of the closed panel system are that less work is required on site as it is quicker and easier to insulate and board in a dry factory and therefore cheaper in the long run. The erection time is the same for a closed frame as it is for an open one. Less money spent on the frame does not always mean savings on the overall build!
Why Timber Frame?
Every builder is faced with having to decide which method they will employ to construct their home. Although some new builds utilise the ancient art of cob, or the more recent straw bale techniques, the vast majority of new builds are built using masonry or timber frame. There are a number of advantages in using timber frame.

The timber frame supply industry has expanded rapidly over recent years, driven by a steady increased demand for timber framed buildings from individual self builders as well as developers both large and small. MRT Homes was established in 2006 with the aim of offering clients not only a product of real quality, but also a level of client service that is a reality and not merely some often promised strap line in a glossy brochure. The founding directors have a wealth of experience to draw upon, having worked with timber framed buildings for the previous fifteen years. Likewise, the frame manufacturing staff are all experienced craftsmen, with up to ten years experience in the production of timber framed buildings, whilst all the MRT Homes Ltd frame erectors, have a minimum of five years experience in erecting timber framed homes.
