They strive to create unique and innovative pieces of bespoke furniture combining traditional woodworking techniques with modern and unusual materials. Design Onion is currently based in a workshop located in Co. Armagh.
Your Commission
Your commissioned piece will be an intimate collaboration between you and Design Onion. All works will be hand crafted to the very highest standards. We feel a piece should reflect the client’s personal taste and meet their every need. After the first contact is made and we get an idea of your requirements for a piece, we will present a number of concept drawings. When an idea is chosen, we will return with a detailed working drawing and production will begin. At this point one third deposit is usually required. Design Onion will be on hand at every stage of both the design and making phases.
Design Onion is also pleased to provide a unique wedding gift commissioning service whereby a budget is set and the design consultation is then between Design Onion and the recipients of the piece. This provides the opportunity for a totally unique wedding gift. Examples of previous commissioned wedding gifts are available in the portfolio section.
Design Onion has also completed numerous fitted home office and bespoke display and storage solutions incorporating glass, metal and solid woods.
