Sustainable timber products
We also provide timber products, all of which are locally sourced from sustainably managed woodland.
Cladding and Weatherboarding
We use locally sourced Douglas Fir, Western Red Cedar and Larch for this purpose as it weathers well in the British climate, needing a minimum of treatment and maintenance. Each location is different, some being more exposed or damper than others, so we choose and cut the wood to suit the job in hand.
Western Red Cedar and Larch weather to a pleasant silvery sheen, and should you have a suitable tree on your land, we can use that too, felling and cutting it on site.
Structural timber
We also supply structural timber for building requirements, such as beams used in timberframed structures, rafters, floor joists, and studwork. The types of timber used are Douglas Fir and Oak, the latter mainly for timber frames.
Should you need timber cut to specific sizes - to replace a beam in an old house, for example - we can supply the size you need.

Charcoal
We also make high quality charcoal from wood which would otherwise go to waste. Please contact us for more information if you need charcoal, as this is a seasonal product.
Timber is a precious resource and we owe it to ourselves to optimise its use. This is our underlying philosophy: local timber, used with a minimum of waste and resources, and managed for the benefit of future generations. Forests and smaller woods can be of great benefit, creating jobs and a space for wildlife and recreation, whilst providing good quality timber.
