Cold Cathode LightingUnlike standard fluorescent tubes a cold cathode lamp has no cathode heater, has no flicker on start up and is not a fixed length. The sort of situations one would employ cold cathode lighting include, ceiling cornices and domes, wall wash effects, back lighting of panels and counter fronts, in fact anywhere soft subtle effects are required.
Cold cathode is available in a whole variety of colours and the tubes can be bent to fit virtually any shape. The electrode configuration allows you to butt the tubes together giving completely seamless light output. The pictures below show cold cathode in use in not only in commercial premises but also domestic situations.
Neon Signs & DisplaysAlthough invented much earlier, neon has been in use commercially for signage and lighting purposes since the 1920s. The tubes and fixing methods have remained much the same since that time, only transformer technology and electronic control systems have changed significantly. Over the years many inventions have been hailed as 'the replacement for neon!' but none have come close to the light output and true vibrancy of 'real' neon.
Over the years we have been asked to do some very unusual and complex things with neon and have not been beaten yet!!
Our tubes are made in house giving us complete control over production and delivery times. We are completely flexible if you have an urgent project or repair. We can often turn a job around in the time our competitors take to do the paperwork.
