MG Abrasives was founded in 1996 by Geoffrey Barker and Mick Elders to provide a cost effective supply of abrasives and finishing pads to joinery manufacturers, furniture manufactures and shopfitters. Specialising in Foam Abrasives and Denibbing Pads MG Abrasives are able to cover every need of a fine woodwork finish.
ABRASIVE FOAM PADS:
Our abrasive foam pads are a superb product designed for the wood-working and surface finishing industries. MG's pads are ideally suited for use on flat, rounded or shaped surfaces either on raw materials or for denibbing and has proved popular in use for the past few years. For positively the best finish on moulded, turned and machined components in both soft and hard woods, MDF and veneers, there is no substitute for the consistent quality of this conveniently shaped, well constructed and conformably flexible product.
The grit on the dual-sided pads has been sealed to eliminate fall-out and they can be used wet or dry and last up to five times as long as paper backed abrasives. They can also be supplied in single-sided form by arrangement. Foam Abrasive Blocks with four abrasive sides designed to access difficult contours can also be supplied.
DENIBBING PADS:
Extensive tests within the furniture industry have proved that the 150 grit pads are the best suited for pine and the 100 grit pad for MDF (recommended for denibbing). We stock a broad range of grits, consisting of 60, 100, 150, 180 and 220 to accommodate all applications and you are welcome to ask us for samples to try for yourselves. In addition we can supply grits 54, 80, 90, 120 and 280 by special arrangement.
