Crown Oak Buildings have constructed hundreds of oak timber frame houses, buildings and garages throughout Kent, Sussex, Surrey and across the UK.
We are proud to offer design services tailored to your individual needs to build you an oak timber frame home or garage that is in complete harmony with your local environment.

We also manufacture and supply self build oak timber frame kits across the UK. This service provides you with your requested building in a packed form. All of our oak timber frame buildings are manufactured in our own workshop to your specification thus ensuring that all the joints are precise and then numbered accordingly.
Instructions, engineer’s building calculations and all the materials that you have specified are then available in a pack.
Oak Framed Buildings
Crown Oak Buildings Ltd offer a range of services from a full build package where we can assist you with the initial design, planning application, ground works, manufacture and assembly of oak timber frame including weather board, through to the tiling and insulation of the roof. Or, depending on how much work you would like to carry out yourself or if you wish to use your own contractors, we can offer a bespoke service designed to fit your needs.
Oak Framed Garages
One and two bay oak frame garages have the advantage of not always needing planning permission if they are under 30m2 of floor area and under a four metre ridge height. However, we would always advise customers to check with their local authority first. One and two bay garages are enormously popular and can incorporate many different designs and features, for instance, a secure locked room for tools or a garden store etc.
Bespoke Design
From here there are three ways to proceed, you can use one of our standard design plans, commission an architect or use our in-house designers to assist you with plans and planning permission if necessary.
Planning
A full planning service is available and includes submitting applications to local offices for Planning Permission, and Listed Building Consent as well as a Building Regulation Approval and Building Notice. You may wish to carry out these tasks yourself.
Structural Calculations
Structural Calculations are included in the price of all our standard buildings and we can commission our engineer to produce calculations for all other buildings.
Kit Form Package
This service will provide you with an oak frame in a kit form for the self builder. The building is manufactured and pre-assembled in our workshop to ensure quick and easy assembly on site. Included in all kits are a full set of instructions, screws, nails, pegs and bolts.
Full Package
With this service we can undertake building the entire project from initiating the groundwork, electrical and plumbing work, to laying roof tiles. Please enquire as this option is available within range of our workshop. However, we can work with your local contractor to prepare the site.
Supply and Fit Packages
This is the most popular option and includes manufacturing the oak frame in our workshop, delivering it to site where it is assembled to customer’s own groundworks. This service is offered throughout the country.
