Clarke Matthews was founded in 1991 to provide an engineering design service in the construction industry.
John Matthews has taken the company into other areas to include a total design package for new buildings, project management for existing companies, assisting with business relocation of spatial layout of machinery and equipment and investigative engineering to provide expert witness services. John Matthews has become the vice chairman of the international panel of South Wales Chamber of Commerce.
He has recently been voted onto the Board of Directors of WNABC (Wales & North American Business Council). John is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers.
Previous projects range:
- Medical Health Centre for four GP's, dentist, pharmacy and ancillary healthcare in Cardiff
- Transhipment distribution Hub, 200,000 sq ft building on 21 acre sit, the only non-drive through Hub in the pallet transport sector.
- Modifications and extensions to existing factory to increase to 80,000sq ft, installation of plastic extruder machinery.
- Demolition of redundant social housing units.

Existing Business - Total management of business re-location from assessment and adapting new premises to moving plant and machinery.

- Restoration Services
A specialist service that investigates construction defects, flooding and structural failures for litigation proceedings.
