The company undertakes house builds and extensions as well as small domestic works.
The business also has a dedicated insurance repair division which specialises in insurance loss and building repairs for domestic and commercial properties.

Company
S R Sellwood Construction is a well respected building company based in Wokingham, Berkshire. The business is a preferred contractor for many insurance companies and Loss Adjusters including British Gas, Knowles Loss Adjusters and Cunningham Lindsay carrying out buildings insurance damage and building guarantee claims. The growth of the business has come from the existing customer base and incremental house build one off projects & also by extending the geography that we cover.
Sellwood Construction has built its business via repeat/word of mouth recommendation. Sellwood Construction started working with Skillbase in 1998 and has maintained and grown its mutual business. We will continue to do this by adapting our infrastructure to best meet the demands of our customers. We have improved our communication and accessibility via the use of mobile phones and email and have improved the quality of reporting with the use of digital photography.
Alongside our insurance repair division we have also completed several private substantial projects within the local area, photos of some of these are on our gallery page.
Our staff and subcontractors are happy to work through the south of England including London.
Services - Staff
With a large database of staff and subcontractors we are able to cover every trade within the building industry. Our large team of staff, with professional qualifications where appropriate, including Gas-safe (formally CORGI) & N.I.C.E.I.C, have experience and expertise in all aspects of the building industry. They work hard and respect your property, cleaning up at the end of each day.
We are NHBC registered house builders - Registration number 80330.
Customer Service
We believe this is almost more important than technical expertise due to the service aspect of insurance work and the competitive nature of the market in a consumer driven environment. It is critical that our customers drive repeat business for Sellwood Construction or our insurance partners with the renewal of policies.
Our philosophy is centred on the importance of communication. We provide regular and timely updates (via phone or email) that ensure all interested parties are aware of status on projects. We work hard to manage customer expectations throughout the job and deal with any issues promptly and efficiently to ensure customer satisfaction. Steve believes the insurance dimension of his business delivers solutions to individuals in distressing situations. His empathy to their personal situation focuses his and his team’s commitment to excellence. This attitude is carried over in the non insurance works undertaken by the company. We appreciate the disturbance caused by any building works and aim to minimise this as much as possible.
Maintain Heath & Safety standards for employees & customers
Our membership of NHBC ensures we comply with evolving standards. Regular Health & Safety assessments are carried out on our staff whilst on site. We have full Health & Safety policies, Equal Opportunities policies & Environmental policies which are reviewed every twelve months.
Account Management
With the exception of large projects, the works are invoiced on completion. We have the ability to email quotations & invoices for speed & convenience. Our terms of payment are a strict 30 days. We are able to accept payments by cheque or BACS.
Large projects are invoiced in stages for works that have been completed. The frequency of invoices is discussed with each client prior to commencement of works.
Selldry Services
A dedicated division of Sellwood Construction devoted to cleaning. Full builder's clean, carpet cleaning and tenant's cleaning are all undertaken.
