The Reclaimed Flooring Company is a boutique wood flooring business with a mission. A mission to keep wood, just like wood. A mission to create and supply newly hand-made, reclaimed and natural wood flooring that is timelessly beautiful, durable, environmentally friendly and full of raw character.

We exhibit and sell our flooring internationally from home. Home is Greater Manchester, birthplace of the Victorian industrial revolution, England. Where immense cotton mills once exported their products throughout the world, and homes were built in their thousands for workers and their families. Today, these historic mills and houses are slowly making way for business parks and luxury apartments. Renovation and demolition projects have become an increasing addition to the Manchester city skyline, old building materials such as Victorian timbers, beams and floorboards have become a fortunate corollary for the local reclamation industry.

Reclaimed
Planks re-sawn and re-milled from seasoned, reclaimed French oak beams. These antique beams are then kiln dried to an estimated 8-10% moisture content before fumigation. The unique beauty here is that we salvage and maintain the outside of the beam face and do not shy away from all the rustic character, chisel markings, bolt holes, surface undulations and saw markings. These particulars may all be present and are not to be considered a defect.

Panels & Parquet
Parquetry is a geometric mosaic of wood pieces used for decorative effect. The Herringbone pattern is an arrangement of individual rectangle blocks, not adhered to panels. Herringbone floors may have been the first parquet pattern developed in Europe, perhaps because it simply involved turning the wood planks at an angle, and it also echoed zig-zag brickwork that had decorated churches and other buildings for centuries. These authentic reclaimed blocks are typically sourced from ancient European churches, the quality of the Pitch Pine is obvious upon inspection of the tight grain pattern.

Driftwood
Our distinct Storm Damaged surface creates a raw almost un-machined surface texture, where pockets of natural oils gather with added depth and texture variation. Our base wood is coloured naturally through layers of secret organic compound mixes, we then brush and wash the boards with pure white and natural hard wax oils. The 'Sunbaking' effect is created through a longer and stronger base coat reaction, which bleaches the timber and strips away some of the beige and brown tones in the wood.

Grande Restoration
Whether restoring or renovating, Grande Restoration floorboards lend themselves to wide open spaces and awe-inspiring hallways at the very least. Specifically sourced and created to replicate the raw impact of any luxurious and reclaimed, antique oak surface. Each board is hand-crafted and often shaped to replicate at least a century of natural structural movement. With subtle variations and delicate tones of colour, our craftsmen have created authentic patinas with a barrage of depth and natural authenticity.

Antique Redtoration
A subtle and classic surface masks the depths of knowledge and experience required for it's creation. Resisting the urge to overpower, our precise finishing chemistry combined with with longer patina drying times enable such colour subtleties to develop. From a brushed base with gentle flecks of white, the finished face frames a soft contrast of light browns with murky amber. Subtle and natural, Tan has become a softer and lighter alternative to Driftwood.

Natural Oak for wood purists, here is where you will to see our raw stock, naked. Our mountain character oak, character grade A/B oak, Prime Oak, Character A/B Engineered Oak, 12mm, 16mm, 21mm and our very own 'Castle Grade' of oak complete our current in-house stock.
