James Tomkins began his professional career at CD Construction and Keighley College, where he gained an NVQ Level 3 in Bricklaying. After five years with CD Construction, he progressed to work on new build housing sites in his local area before going on to set up James Tomkins Building Contractors.
The business has gone from strength to strength despite the economic downturn. James believes the reason for this is, simply put, the way in which he runs things and interacts with customers. “The more time we spend planning a project, making sure the customer knows exactly what they’re getting for their money, leads to a smooth and efficient build with no hidden extra costs,” he says.
