We act, provide reports, and give evidence in Court as an Expert Witness – Partly Appointed Expert (PAE) or Single Joint Expert (SJE) – in compliance with Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules 1998 (CPR35) and its associated Practice Direction (PD35).

We act for Executors in valuing property that forms part of a deceased person’s estate. We can provide a valuation for Inheritance Tax purposes for each property owned by the deceased, to include a Market Value as defined under Section 160 of the Inheritance Tax Act 1984.



Our reports are completed in accordance with the latest editions and guidance notes and practice statements of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) including the “RICS Valuation Standards” (The Red Book) which contains mandatory rules, best practice guidance and related commentary for all RICS members undertaking asset valuations.

Cranborne Associates is regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and is an approved valuer on the RICS Expert Witness Registration Scheme (EWRS) and employs valuers approved under the RICS Valuer registration Scheme.
