London 2012 Diversity Week Underway

London 2012 Diversity Week got underway, highlighting the efforts being made to make sure London 2012 is 'everyone's Games'.

Diversity Week gives London 2012 the opportunity to showcase how it is building diversity and inclusion into all of its work, look back on the achievements over the past 12 months and outline some of the forthcoming challenges for the coming year.

The week kicked off with 'Everyone's 2012' conference, raising awareness of London 2012's work in areas including volunteering, procurement, community relations and service delivery and the opportunities which are available for communities across the UK.

Other activity planned for the week includes a 'Women in Construction' taster day, coinciding with International Women's Day; and workshops aimed at attracting a range of communities to apply for jobs at London 2012.

Seb Coe, Chair of the London 2102 Organising Committee said: "We have always been clear – we want London 2012 to be 'everyone's Games'. To deliver change, LOCOG must continue to recruit and retain a diverse workforce. LOCOG is set to double in size this year as planning for the staging the London 2012 Games intensifies and we want to attract the very best talent from all our communities to join us."
