Lovell Teams Up With Its Suppliers To Help Refurbish Sports Pavilion

Community-minded housing developer Lovell teamed up with its suppliers to help Brecon Sports Association refurbish a run-down sports pavilion.

The pavilion project formed part of the major enterprise by the Association and local community groups and organisations to create a new home for its member clubs at playing fields at The Watton in Brecon. The pavilion refurbishment was a key element in the scheme and means that cricket matches can now be played at the new facility.

"The pavilion was in a poor state of repair, creating a desperate situation and members of the association explored a range of possibilities in order to procure the materials needed to carry out the refurbishment," explained Ron Rowsell, secretary of the Brecon Sports Association Charitable Trust. "Fortunately, we found support from Lovell for which we are extremely grateful."

Lovell is currently building the new Maes Halley, Parc Dewi Sant housing development at Llanfaes, Brecon.

As well as giving financial support and technical advice, Lovell secured the support of its suppliers who provided fixtures and fittings used in the refurbishment of the pavilion – all given for free. The companies that helped were: heating specialist Glow-worm, Mira Showers, Twyford Bathrooms, Kingspan Insulation, Symphony Kitchens, Porcelanosa Ceramic Tiling, British Gypsum, Quinn Radiators, I G Doors and Jewson builders' merchant.
