MPs Unveil Development In Milton Keynes

Local MPs Iain Stewart and Mark Lancaster joined Jephson Homes Housing Association at the official unveiling of its Walton Grange scheme on Brickhill Street.

Comprising 53 high-quality affordable homes, the scheme was built by Leybourne Homes and funded in partnership with the Homes and Communities Agency.

The scheme includes 18 two-bedroom apartments and 35 two, three and four-bedroom houses, available for rent. They are part of a wider 176 home development four miles from central Milton Keynes and have been built to the code for sustainable homes level 3, designed to reduce water and fuel bills for residents. One resident to benefit from the new homes is Rhys Griffiths, who lives with his three-year-old son, Logan. Mr Griffiths said: "I'm currently looking for work so the location is amazing. My family only live ten minutes away, we’re close to the city and we’re only five minutes away from the countryside. It’s great for getting out of the house and doing stuff with Logan, like riding his bike and as it’s a new place for everyone all our neighbours are friendly and polite. We all give each other a wave hello, so it’s a nice place to live."

Iain Stewart MP said: "I know from my post bag that there’s a huge appetite for quality affordable housing in this area. This development is in a lovely part of Milton Keynes and I'm sure will be very welcome for local people."
