Lovell Launches New Fuel-Efficient, Low-Carbon Vehicles

Lovell has launched new fuel-efficient, low-carbon vehicles for its team working for the Accord Group in the Midlands.

Lovell calculates that the new diesel-powered Ford vans – which have been introduced by the repairs and maintenance business across the UK - will cut monthly carbon emissions by around ten per cent compared with the vehicles they replace. Nationally, this means an annual saving of 367 metric tonnes of carbon overall – the equivalent of the average annual carbon footprint of around 30 people in the UK.

Sporting distinctive Lovell-branded livery, the vans are being used by the repairs and maintenance team which carries out day-to-day repairs and provides a 24-hour reactive repairs service for Accord’s homes in Birmingham, Coventry, Walsall, Wolverhampton and Sandwell, as well as carrying out refurbishment and maintenance work to empty properties. Lovell’s ten-year contract with Accord began in June 2012.

"Modern, reliable, fuel-efficient vehicles are essential to ensure that our clients continue to receive an effective, high-quality service," said Simon Medler, managing director of the Lovell repairs and maintenance business. "Equally importantly, the new vehicles will deliver environmental improvements by cutting our carbon footprint." Each vehicle is fitted with a speed limiter to improve fuel efficiency and Masternaut vehicle tracking to encourage safe and economical driving habits.
