Footballer's Alleged Sexual Assault Victim "Really Scared"

A woman who repeatedly told a Premier League footballer to leave her alone was "really scared" during her alleged ordeal, a court heard today.

Sunderland player Titus Bramble is alleged to have tried to grope his victim in a taxi home from a night out in Yarm, Teeside.

She said he tried to kiss her in an alleyway but as she knew he had a girlfriend, she told him to stop.

The unidentified woman, who gave evidence today, said she agreed to share a taxi home with her but in the taxi, he put his hand up her dress.

His behaviour became so threatening that the taxi driver, alarmed by the scenes in the back of his cab, drove to a police station to report the incident, Teesside Crown Court heard.

From behind a screen, his alleged victim said she locked herself in a toilet at the station until Bramble had gone.

Bramble, 30, denies four counts of sexual assault relating to two separate women on September 28 2011.

It is alleged he groped the bottom of a second woman inside the Cross Keys nightclub, where he had spent the evening.

Bramble made no comment during police interviews.

The trial continues.
